Alison Ross, LMFT, CEDS

Founder, Non-Dieting Health | NDH Therapy

Licensed Marriage & Family Psychotherapist,
Lic #48192
Certified Eating Disorder Therapist (CEDS)
Neurofeedback Practitioner

(She/Her)

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” - Anais Nin Alison is the founder of Non-Dieting Health, a licensed psychotherapist and a certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS). She is also a neurofeedback and bioregulation practitioner and an advocate for body-positive living. Her outpatient center offers therapeutic services to teens and adults struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADD, and ADHD. It also offers services for individuals seeking to improve their well-being and lead healthier lives, whether it's guidance during life transitions, relationship assistance, or career support. Alison views disordered eating patterns, along with the mental health challenges that frequently coincide with eating and body image struggles, as predictable responses to the pervasive influence of a highly-rewarding food environment and societal expectations to tightly control one's weight and appetite. When internalized, this conflict can lock people into reactionary mindsets about food and their bodies, which can impede their ability to regulate emotions, thinking, mood, sleep, appetite, and eating behavior. Alison empowers clients to shift from stressful and shame-based mindsets to developing body respect and nurturing their nutritional well-being. She guides them away from preoccupation with food and weight, towards a life of greater meaning and joy. Alison is the author of Non-Dieting: How to Love Your Body and Be Healthy in Diet Culture. "Befriending our bodies and making peace with them is the beginning of one of the best relationships we can ever have -- the relationship with ourselves." -Esther Perel Hi. I'm Lindsay Hall, an associate marriage and family therapist working under the supervision of Alison Ross, LMFT, CEDS. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, systemic, and integrative lens that is culturally attuned. In therapy, I strive to create a safe place where you can explore and grow. I respect that you are the expert in your life, and I am a supportive guide. I bring my authentic self to help you feel comfortable and enjoy the process. My goal is to help you navigate uncomfortable feelings and life's challenges and to better understand your relationship with your body, mind, spirit, interpersonal relationships, and the world around you. I approach disordered eating and mental health challenges by looking at the bigger picture. These struggles aren’t just about what's inside you; they also reflect your relationships, family, community, and society. Together, we'll explore what makes you, well, you. We'll identify what helps you thrive and what you might want to change. Struggles with eating, body image, mood, and mental health can make you feel alone and impact your confidence. I'm here to walk by your side as you move into healing and empowerment. In the room, you will be seen, heard, respected, supported, and empowered. This is a space where you can delve deep into your thoughts, feelings, and emotions while using your strengths to create meaningful change. I am looking forward to helping you grow, heal, and find peace within. Sydney Hafer, AMFT, APCC

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
AMFT Lic. #153007, APCC Lic. #18638

(She/Her)

“Being human is not about being any one particular way; it is about being as life creates you—with your own particular strengths and weaknesses, gifts and challenges, quirks and oddities.” ― Kristin Neff Sydney Hafer is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who works from a relational, trauma-informed, and whole-person lens. She brings compassion, authenticity, and collaboration into the therapy room, meeting each client with curiosity and care as they explore what’s beneath the behaviors and symptoms that have helped them survive. Sydney specializes in supporting teens and adults struggling with eating disorders, complex trauma, mood disorders, relational challenges and identity exploration. She sees these struggles not as signs of brokenness, but as adaptations—intelligent responses to overwhelming experiences that may no longer serve the client’s values or goals. Her work is rooted in helping individuals build safer, more connected ways of being with themselves and others. Sydney’s approach integrates evidence-based modalities while tailoring her work to the unique identity, story, and strengths of each person she supports. She believes healing happens in relationship—with others, with the body, and with oneself—and that therapy can be a place to not only survive, but to imagine and move toward something more: joy, freedom, peace, and wholeness. Outside the therapy room, you can find Sydney exploring in the beautiful California nature, going to yoga and brunch with friends, singing and dancing at concerts, traveling, and spending time with her cats. She brings her full, human self to her work and invites clients to do the same.
