About Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Welcome to our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy program. We support individuals of all backgrounds in reconnecting with themselves, processing unresolved trauma, and achieving greater emotional balance. Ketamine, administered in a safe, clinical setting, under the supervision of a licensed medical provider, can catalyze deep therapeutic work when combined with psychotherapy.
KAP is especially effective for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic stress, existential distress, and more. It works by enhancing neuroplasticity—helping the brain create new, healthier pathways—and providing temporary relief from default patterns of rumination, fear, and disconnection.

What We Treat with KAP

Depression
KAP offers rapid relief from symptoms of depression by disrupting negative thought loops and promoting new emotional and behavioral patterns. Clients often experience a reduction in hopelessness, improved motivation, and an increased sense of connection to life and purpose.
Anxiety
KAP can quiet the internal narrative that fuels chronic anxiety, allowing clients to access a sense of calm and perspective. It supports emotional flexibility, reduces avoidance behaviors, and fosters resilience in the face of stress.

PTSD & Trauma
Ketamine temporarily softens the brain's defense mechanisms, enabling clients to revisit painful experiences with greater emotional distance and safety. This can allow for deeper trauma processing, reduced hypervigilance, and the resolution of stuck emotional responses.
Existential & Spiritual Distress
For those struggling with meaning, grief, or life transitions, KAP can facilitate profound insight, expanded awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose. Clients often describe their sessions as reconnecting them to a deeper sense of self.
Treatment Resistant Conditions
For clients who have tried many other treatments without success, KAP offers a new pathway forward. Ketamine's unique neurobiological effects can jumpstart healing when traditional talk therapy or medication hasn’t been enough.

How does KAP work?
1. Preparation Session
You’ll begin your KAP journey with preparation sessions. First, you will meet with a psychiatrist from Journey Clinical to complete a medical and psychiatric intake. You will then receive an individualized treatment plan and start to meet with one of our therapists. You and your therapist will explore your goals, set intentions for your ketamine experiences, and build the trust and safety needed for meaningful therapeutic work.
2. Medicine Sessions
During your dosing sessions, you will self-administer your ketamine lozenge, as advised by the psychiatrist. You will relax in a comfortable, calming setting with support from your therapist. These sessions are inward-facing, guided by calming music, eye masks, and your own inner process.
3. Integration
After your dosing session, you’ll meet with your therapist for integration sessions. Integration sessions are designed to review the memories, thoughts, and insights that arose during your dosing session. These are vital for helping you make meaning of your experience, apply insights to your life, and support lasting change in your emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
